This commissioned work found its place in Muggia, Italy!
The original photograph was processed in 4 levels, digital and analogue. The image was abstracted and then colored and retouched. The image section was resized to 270 × 135 cm and divided into zones. The structure of the background was created painterly, with soft and strong brush strokes, acrylic paint and spatula technique. The color structure was created in the colors (purple, magenta, rose, blue) and, in contrast, to create harmony, earthy, warm (yellow, orange, red, soft green) "Tuscany" colors. Then spray paints were added - especially on the left, which were subsequently adapted in color to the basic structure. Again and again I manipulated the images in the composition to create a coherent overall picture. Then decollages, silhouettes and halftone dots were added. I tried to break the lightness of the water reflection at certain points in order to create tension and richness of detail. The architecture of the harbor promenade dissolves into an abstract, fantastic world of colours. Water colors and pencil drawings formed the colorful and spirited conclusion of an enriching work. Overall, the work has become very complex and rich in detail, without overloading the whole thing. I countered the linear architecture with expressive, bold overpainting. Excitement and harmony, bright and muted colors alternate. There are many details that let the eye wander and invite you to finish.

I created this commissioned work for a customer as a wedding present.
The couple's portraits were gradually abstracted and retouched. The two other transmitted images were then processed in the same way. I chose the picture of the Pennan Inn as the main background and the view was mirrored so that the red telephone booth was not distracting from the bride's red dress. In addition, the cutout was mounted in such a way that the falling lines of space behind the couple appeared closed and not open. The palm leaves were gently embedded into the overall composition. Now some hand drawings, scribbles, water color structures and spray fragments were created and condensed with the background. Grid dots and light reflections rounded off the revision. The lighting was implemented according to the occasion, warm and pleasant. In general, the warm-cold contrast of the suit and the dress was followed inversely in the image structure. Light and dark contrasts were also added to create depth and closeness. Since the Pennan Inn is not out of sight in the fragmentary editing, the lettering was inserted on the lower left edge of the picture, as well as "Thousand" flying hearts on the right, distributed in the lower half of the picture. The overall structure of the picture is rich in detail, complex and light at the same time.

A watercolor painting by Anton Altmann (33 cm × 89 cm) from 1855 served as the starting point for the work. This image has been digitally restored and retouched.
With regard to the color scheme, the office environment was thought of and the palette was designed accordingly. It was important to bring the first color nuances into harmony and to let the picture appear in the colors that then shaped the entire picture composition. As a contrast to the historic city panorama, fragmentary wall graffiti structures and raster photographs of torn posters span the arc from old to new. The cityscape with its typical elements is still clearly recognizable and has been abstracted and painted over at the points that create the best possible harmony in a balance of opposites, without competing with one another. Delicate lines and subtle, warm color surfaces are juxtaposed with wild painterly gestures. Clear lines and surfaces were created with free forms and fragments from collages, décollages, spray paintings and drawing contrasts in order to create tension. This idea was condensed with macro shots of image fragments. The left part indicates a golden ratio. A nautilus snail symbolizes him on the right edge.
The delicate cherry blossoms should convey a certain lightness at the top and continue the image section.
In the entire work there is also a harmonious interplay of the contrasts between nature and architecture, which is stylistically underpinned from top to bottom by a light-dark contrast. The city as such is embedded in nature and forms an overall ensemble.

The transmitted original photograph was processed digitally and analogously in 4 layers. The picture was abstracted and then colored and retouched. The image section has been changed, the portrayed is now in the middle and so I have chosen a classic portrait format for further revision. The background structure was created painterly with soft and strong brushstrokes, acrylic paint and spatula technique. Then spray paints were added. Again and again the images in the composition were manipulated to create a coherent overall picture. Then works from art history (Christian Schussele, Ocean Life) were inserted with works from my sketchbooks (flower on the right). I brought the client's cat into the composition at the top right. The birds (top left) and the butterflies (right and left) have been added to give the dreamy thinker look a certain lightness. Watercolors and pencil drawings formed the colorful and lively conclusion of an enriching work. Overall, the work has become very complex. There are many details that let the eye wander and invite you to the final cover.
